Chennai Express is already the second biggest !
Aug 13, 2013After smashing several records in its opening weekend, both in India and in overseas markets, Chennai Express entered the weekdays with plenty of momentum and with many records already broken. While the domestic Indian net collections were 100.35 crores, the overseas gross was 50.45 crores after the first weekend.
The first Monday netted another impressive figure of 12.60 crores and the film's domestic total after 4.5 days is 112.95 crores net. Chennai Express is already the second biggest hit this year in India, with just Ranbir's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) ahead at 190 crores plus. Trade analysts are expecting Chennai Express to continue collecting impressively and challenge the YJHD figure.
But it must be noted that Chennai Express's Monday drop is substantial and that YJHD collected 13 crores on its first Monday. Will the Express chase down YJHD? We have to wait and watch.
