Framed as ‘Megastar’, Chiranjeevi – also fondly called as Chiru, celebrates his 58^th birthday today, 22nd August 2013. The superstar turned politician is currently on a hiatus from films as he holds an active position in the ministry. The actor was last seen onscreen alongside his son Ram Charan Teja for a cameo in the blockbuster Maghadeera.

Chiru’s career graph is similar to our very own Superstar Rajinikanth. Just as Rajini did, Chiru too started off his career playing negative roles and anti-hero characters since his debut in 1979, but soon shot to stardom after a film titled ‘Khiladi’. The 90s defined Chiranjeevi’s hold on the box-office as he delivered commercial blockbusters in succession. Known for his supreme dancing skills, Chiru has also won hearts playing more tender characters early in his career.

The actor is widely recognized across the country and has had healthy presence in the Tamil, Hindi and Kannada industries. Chiru’s birthday is generally celebrated like a festival by his wide fan base.
