Director Kannan and star comedian Santhanam share a great friendship and a successful professional partnership that started in the director’s debut film Jayam Kondaan and has carried on till his most recent Settai.

Kannan had recently met Santhanam on the sets of Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal to narrate the comedy portions for his upcoming film Alangaram. The director was visibly happy to see that Santhanam had enjoyed the narration and even more so that their partnership is set to continue for the fifth time in a row.

Talking to Behindwoods Correspondent, Kannan recounts Santhanam’s demeanor by saying “Despite the heights he has reached, as a person he remains exactly as how he was when I worked with him in Jayam Kondaan.”

Alangaram is an original script by Kannan and in all likeliness will feature Karthi in the lead. More details and confirmations are expected by the end of this month.

Karthi and Santhanam have already teamed up for 4 movies in the recent past - Siruthai, Saguni, Alex Pandian and All in All Azhaguraja. Like in the case of the Kannan - Santhanam duo, Alangaram would be the fifth outing for the Karthi - Santhanam combo too.
