Following the leak of the Biriyani music album, the team has decided to release the album earlier than planned. The album will be released in a low key event in an FM station on 21^st August. Earlier it was planned to be released on 31^st August, on the birthday of Yuvan Shankar Raja. However, a grand event to celebrate the launch of Yuvan's 100th album and his birthday will happen on 31^st August.

Meanwhile, team Biriyani filed a complaint with the CBCID earlier in the day requesting the police to take action against piracy. Talking to the press, director Venkat Prabhu said, "it is sad that this has to happen to the 100th album of Yuvan Shankar Raja"  The team had planned a grand launch for the album. Now that the album is already online, the producers have planned for a soft launch. "We have made alternative arrangements and the CDs will hit stores on Wednesday, the 21st of August", added the director.

Starring Karthi, Hansika and Premgi in the lead, the film is being planned for a September release. Studio Green has funded the project.
