It was declared a hit, the moment Soodhu Kavvum hit the big screens. This is yet another film that has tasted success for its story and not for the star power. This Nalan Kumarasamy directed black comedy has successfully completed its 50^th day run in theatres and is still going mighty strong.

The actors have become busier too, after the success of this film. Vijay Sethupathy has five projects, including  Rummy, Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Pannaiyarum Padminiyum, Sangudevan and Vasantha Kumaran. Sanchita Shetty and Asok Selvan will been seen in Pizza 2- The Villa and the supporting actors of Soodhu Kavvum Simhaa, Karuna Karan, RJ Ramesh Thilak are the present favourites of up and coming directors.
