Nalan Kumarasamy, director of Soodhu Kavvum, is confident of being a reliable filmmaker to his producers. He feels that as he did with Soodhu Kavvum he can complete a film in 50 days or less without cutting corners unnecessarily. While he gives the impression that he’s a director who can deliver the goods with a humble budget, Nalan has said that his dream project is a sci-fi film that will demand a big budget to fulfill the script’s demands. However it is yet to be ascertained if this would be his next project.

Nalan, a mechanical engineer by qualification, made the shift to filmmaking as soon as he realized his calling in showbiz. After directing nearly 20 episodes of a college based serial for a regional channel, Nalan earned his first shot in the big league with Soodhu Kavvum by which he had already done his homework and assembled a team with the talent and vision to translate his ideas from paper to celluloid.
