Almost all the big shots in the film industry, including Rajinikanth, Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj and Parthiban have made their statements regarding the Vishwaroopam issue. One man’s opinion, the industry was looking forward to, was director Ameer’s. Being the president of FEFSI, Secretary of Tamil Film Directors Association, and a follower of Islam, It was believed that his statement would be an influential one.

The director now has opened up saying that he will comment on the issue only after watching the film.  To quote him, “The judges are there to take a final stand on whether the freedom of expression of an artiste is curtailed or does it affect the sensibilities of any particular community. In this juncture, without watching the film, I won't make my comments and create any after-effects.”
