Balaji Tharaneetharan, the director of the cult comedy Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, not surprisingly has a wonderful sense of humor. In a recent interview he revealed that it was a struggle to release NKPK as it was felt that nobody would watch a film with newcomers. Fortunately for him, Pizza with Vijay Sethupathy in the lead was a big hit and suddenly the young actor had achieved star status, thus paving the way for NKPK's release.

The director laughingly said that in the initial promo posters the faces of all four friends in the film were the same size but after Pizza, Vijay's face became bigger! Balaji Tharaneetharan is currently working on a script for his next film and said that he will move on to casting only after the scripting process is done.
