This film will not release

The controversial film produced and directed by Sohan Roy, Dam 999, that starred Tamil actors like Vinay Rai, Vimala Raman and Ashish Vidyarthi had been banned from release in Tamil Nadu following a request made by the local political parties.

The parties claimed that the movie was based on the Mullaperiyar Dam issue and could possibly spark another outrage amongst the people of the state. The producer later filed a petition seeking the overturning of the ban but earlier this morning reports have emerged suggesting that the petition has been dismissed by the High Court of Chennai.


This will mean that Dam 999 has no chance of a release in the state of Tamil Nadu in the near future.
