Kaaviya Thalaivan - packed with 7 National Award winners

Kaaviya Thalaivan, the upcoming period movie based on the life of theater artists in the early part of the 20th century, directed by Vasantha Balan is gearing up for a release in the summer of 2014. The stellar cast and an excellent technical crew mark Kaaviya Thalaivan, produced by YNOT Studios in association with Radiance Media. Here are a few interesting highlights of the movie

1. Since the movie is a portrayal of the lives of theatre artists, make-up plays a vital role in the whole script. Hence, South India’s leading make-up artist Mr.Pattanam Rasheed was made to work as a make-up designer for this movie.

2. Research work for this script was carried out for nearly a year and lots of facts, references and whereabouts have been collected from veteran theatre artists belonging to different theatre clubs existing in Madurai, Dindugul, Karur and Pudhukottai.

3. After working in Madrasapattinam, this movie is the second period film for one of India’s most wanted cinematographers, Mr. Nirav Shah.

4. As the movie resembles the lives of theatre artists, there are lots of original theatre artists who have worked in this movie.

5. The last song penned by Kavignar Vaali before he passed away, was the song called “Krishna Vijayam”, which is for this movie.

6. Also, the late choreographer Mr. Raghuram Master has done the choreography for two of the songs in this movie.

7. This movie will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages simultaneously.

8. Perumal Selvam and Niranjani Agathiyan, costume designers of Paradesi, have once again done extra-ordinary work as the costume designers in providing the best costumes for the artists; those resembling the theatre artists in the pre-independence era.

9. Veteran Tamil writer Jeyamohan has once again penned the dialogues for Vasantha Balan’s movie after the success of Angadi Theru.

10. The most remarkable thing to be mentioned in this movie is the combination of 7 National Award winning personalities such as director Vasantha Balan, Isai Puyal A.R.Rahman, Pa.Vijay, Thambi Ramaiah, Pattanam Rasheed, Editor Praveen and costumer Selvam.
