Singer Suchitra alias Suchi, who sang hit songs like ‘Oru Chinna Thamarai’ in Vettaikaaran and  ‘Oh Ringa Ringa’ in ‘7aum Arivu’ is celebrating her birthday today. On this special occasion the sweet singer has decided to donate her organs and support the cause of organ donation.
 

“I casually toyed with the idea and soon my family members and some of my friends came on board. All of us are going to pledge our body organs with the NNOS (National Network for Organ Sharing) in the city. Normally, I don’t talk about the charitable work that I do during my birthday. I prefer to quietly celebrate. But sometimes issues like that of organ donation have to be highlighted, since people still think that it is taboo. If what I do brings about a change in the perception of even a few people, I will be happy”
 

It must be noted that legendary actors such as Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal and Sarath Kumar have also been a part of this noble act.
