Superstar Rajinikanth's latest avatar
Jul 27, 2013 Sri Purandara Dasa is considered as the Grandfather of carnatic music and at the recent Guru Vandana programme hosted by the Sri Purandara Dasa International Trust Superstar Rajinikanth was honoured with a portrait of the star actor as the legendary carnatic singer.
The Guru Vandana is an event dedicated to honour those who have contributed heavily in the field of music but an exception was made in the case of Rajini as the head of the trust, Mr. Mohan Kumar, decided to reward Rajini for being an exceptional human being.
Rajini graciously accepted the trust’s gesture but was unable to attend the event. The superstar had requested one of his closest friends Rao Bahadur to represent him at the function and collect the portrait on his behalf.
