After reports emerged that actor Rajkiran has been roped in to play the villain in the yet to be titled Dhanush-Vetri Maaran project, the actor himself took time off to clarify to Behindwoods regarding this.

Speaking to a Behindwoods correspondent Rajkiran firmly said “These are just plain rumors as I will never act as a villain in my lifetime. I have always been open to doing only strong character roles and that focus will continue to remain.”

In addition, the popular actor went further by citing an incident in the past to reaffirm his stand – “I was approached to play the villain in Rajinikanth’s Sivaji for which I was offered Rs.3 crores, which is nearly ten times my regular salary, but I politely refused the offer because of my principles and the same applies in this case too.”

Rajkiran has worked with Dhanush before in Hari’s Venghai and one does hope that the seasoned actor returns to essay another powerful role alongside the uber talented Dhanush. Meanwhile, director Vetri Maaran too has communicated to Behindwoods that Rajkiran is not part of the proceedings at the moment.
