The India day parade was conducted on the 18th of August, 2013 in the New York City. The event was held under the lights of Indian icons such as actors Sarath Kumar, Radikaa Sarath Kumar, Vidya Balan, Jaishree Chandrasekhar and social activist Anna Hazare.
 

The event was said to be the world’s largest India day parade which witnessed a crowd of over two lakhs. The New York Police Department had a difficult time controlling the overwhelming crowd who cheered for Sarath Kumar, Radikaa Sarath Kumar and Vidya Balan.
 

People cheered Sarath Kumar using his film moniker “Supreme Star”. They referred to Radikaa Sarath Kumar as ‘Chithi’, which is the name of a TV serial she had acted in. People went crazy watching Vidya Balan, who blew flying kisses to her fans.
 

The event also witnessed the presence of the President of Antigua, Barbuda Winston Baldwin Spencer, Christine Quinn the Speaker of the New York City Council, Sanjay Amin- FIA President, Dhyaneshwar Mulay - New York Consul General and Gen V K Singh,former Chief of Indian Army Staff. This is the 33rd India Day Parade in the New York City.
