PULIVAAL SONGS REVIEW

The album begins with a breezy melody sung by Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal at their usual best.  Though the prelude starts off in Sindhu Bhairavi, it gracefully lands to Carnatic Raagam Charukesi and the orchestration is skillfully done.  Though the essential style reminds the listener of Yuvan Shankar Raja’s ‘Kan Pesum’, this song has its own individuality!

A catchy number arrives next with powerful vocals by Haricharan and Anitha. The lyrics are peppy and rhythm takes the front seat throughout the composition. The song has an unmistakable rustic flavor. Wonderful string section is complemented well by the foot tapping rhythm.

An aggressive number loosely based on Carnatic Raagam Mayamalagowla with brilliant vocals by Madhu Balakrishnan.  The orchestration is effective and sets the mood for a powerful composition.

A dance track begins in strict Arabic flavor but takes off confidently to an essential disco number. The rhythm doesn’t go down any moment during the composition and the vocalists do their best for a track of this sort.

A feel good melody arrives now with peculiar vice of Harihara Sudhan who does a great job in singing the lower octaves. The guitar, laid back percussions do the wonders for the track. Interestingly, the song is based on Carnatic Raaga Suddha Dhanyasi.

The most melodious track of the album makes its appearance again in a different version. This version has Saindhavi in the female singing and she gives the track some pep instead of the sweetness given by Shreya Ghoshal in the earlier version.
