MALINI 22 PALAYAMKOTTAI SONGS REVIEW

Uptempo pop-rock tune that serves well as an introduction to the characters. Great idea to have the actors lending their own voices here as each singer brings forward their own unique vocal identity and intensity. Mostly a heavy sounding rock n roll groove that makes way for a Kerala folk styled outro featuring the vocals of Kovai Sarala.

A melancholy with several impressive instrumental performances starting with the harrowingly romantic string section and then the deft guitar note picking and finally the woodwinds that all make a case for themselves as highlights. The mood and the melody are right up Vijay Yesudas’s alley and Nithya Menen’s performance is strong enough to ensure that she’s not overshadowed by the more professional singer.

Vijay Yesudas reprises this tailor made tune for him all by himself and there isn’t any noteworthy additions or exclusions from the duet version.

A pretty intense song backed by powerful lyrics from Na.Muthukumar. The director and the main lead, Sripriya & Nithya Menen, assume the vocal responsibilities here and in a way gives this tune a personal touch.

The track dabbles in bits of dubstep and some heavy guitars but finds itself lost between many styles. Karthik’s emotive singing works well for the song but what the tune demands is the high intensity which is in ample dosage in the remix version.

A soft indie pop tune with the ukulele driven rhythm and other acoustic accompaniments serves as a welcome addition to an album that’s largely filled with heavy themed songs.  Shakthishree’s voice suits this style fittingly and the words pleasantly bounce up and down on the happy paced rhythm.
