Vairamuthu’s lovely romantic words are given life by Karthik’s tender voice. The song rests on soft guitar chords which ring nicely but the use of acoustic drums might have served as a better option over the pads. The melody sways like a zephyr, never growing unnecessarily loud or dramatic. The interludes are laced with female vocals which add to the tenderness.

Harris delivers a melody in an unusal time signature that is excellently exploited through his instrumentations. The rhythm pattern for one is brilliantly designed around its simplicity as it offers plenty of room for the other instruments like the bass, and later the tabla, to play around with freedom. SPB’s golden voice is simply enchanting and the angelic chorus adds to the depth of emotions.

In all probability, this could well be the best song on the album and is an absolute masterclass composition from Harris Jayaraj. The guitar intro is a beautiful misdirection to the tune’s original personality which, very unexpectedly, is a folksy duet. The composer delights you with several instrumental surprises without digressing from the superb melody he has in his hands. Shakthi’s voice drips with honey and Gopal Rao shows complete control of the situation. The treatment and unpredictable entry-exits of inspired instrumental pieces makes this one of Harris’s all time bests.

In complete contrast to the earlier track comes a tune based on a repetitive house music groove. Again, Harris shows that he can never run out of catchy melodies. With the groove uninterrupted for the most time the composer tops it up with instrumental fills in brief periods. Vijay Prakash breathes life into this electronic tune with a performance that’s strong and subtle at the same time. 

A super catchy hook of a chorus and a spunky performance by Hariharan and Sriram somehow gets drowned in the song’s own darkness. While the track definitely gives you an other-worldly feel with its unfamiliar sound effects it comes at the cost of being less engaging than its initial set-up. No doubt this is a very different track that’s well executed for the most part and is likely to come out great with the visuals.

A symphonic piece that gets the standard yet grandiose treatment it deserves. The army of strings and horns are well paired with the booming choir that guide the listener through the passages of this composition. The piece builds nicely towards the end that drops off with a heightened close.
