Vidya Balan’s Kahaani from Hindi comes to Tamil in the form of Nee Engae En Anbe where Nayanthara reprises the role played by Vidya in Hindi.

Nee Engae En Anbe (NEEA) is directed by Sekar Kammula of Happy Days and Godavari fame for whom this is his first Tamil film.

Vijay Arumugam, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Regional Manager- South Distribution shares his take about the film.

Firstly, NEEA is not a dubbed film and is a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu (Anamika)
The film is going to be released in 500 screens worldwide in Tamil and Telugu and there is a good demand from exhibitors.
The major highlight of the film is Nayanthara, who shot in 40 degree heat in Hyderabad. Although affected by viral fever during the shoot, the professional that she is, Nayan continued to shoot giving a superb performance.
Nayanthara’s character will be a very relatable one.
NEEA is a well made realistic film with no commercial trappings.
A few important scenes which were shot in Hyderabad old city were done using candid camera and they have come out very well.
The film was screened for a focus group that liked the film and were unanimous in their positive response.
NEEA is a movie that can be watched with the entire family.
The pregnancy angle in the original has been changed in the remake.
Music scored by Maragathamani aka Keeravani is terrific and there are just two songs in the film and both are montages.
