MALINI 22 PALAYAMKOTTAI MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

22 Female Kottayam created a big roar in Malayalam that comes to Tamil as Malini 22 Palayamkottai (M22P) directed by actress Sripriya featuring Nithya Menon in the lead role.

Sripriya while talking about her debut directorial film admits that she is very angry about what is happening to women in the country today. “I wanted to record my anger and I chose M22P as the vehicle. The film would totally be a different experience”, she quips.

Harish, son of actress/ director Vijayanirmala, who plays an important role in the film reiterates Sripriya’s stance and says, “M22P is a woman centric film done in a different entertainment format with a strong message”.

Will it have any entertainment factor?

“Yes”, says Naresh, “It is an entertainer, you will watch the film twice or thrice but with a different feel. Such films directed by a woman director like Sripriya is another beautiful aspect for the film because a woman only can bring out the feel of a woman properly and she has projected the emotions correctly”.

Sripriya adds that M22P is not a total frame to frame remake. “I have made changes as per Tamil sensibility and have made it as a new story”, she avers.

What about the performances?

Harish, “Nithya Menon is a thinking and intelligent actress. She has justified her role more than 100%. She has transformed herself totally and is easily an asset to the south Indian film industry”.

Sripriya could not agree on this anymore. According to the director, “Nithya Menon has done wonders in front of the camera”.

In response to all the good words, Nithya Menon said, “All my previous projects have given me an image of a peppy and cute girl. But, Malini’s character fits me the best.”

About the hero Krish who is the son of actress Jaya Bharathi and Sathar, both Harish and Sripriya feel that he is going to go places in Tamil film industry with his looks and performance. Sripriya states, “Nobody agreed to act in this film due to image constraints but Krish very easily accepted the role; both his parents are actors and I did not have to teach him anything”.

On M22P’s music which is scored by Arvind and Shankar, Sripriya and Harish have good words. As per Sripriya, “I am proud to introduce Arvind and Shankar. In fact I have tortured them to give me more tunes. People who have listened to the songs wonder if they have been scored by A R Rahman. Although this is not a music oriented film, songs of M22P are excellent”.

Harish seconds it, “Arvind and Shankar’s every song is hummable. When the songs are good, the film is bound to be successful”.

About the most important aspect of the film, the camerawork, Sripriya has this to say, “Manoj Pillai’s camera work is excellent and will be talked about”.

Harish says, “Mood lighting plays a very important role for a film like M22P and Manoj Pillai has done a fantastic job at that”

To sum it all up, Sripriya says, “Behind every successful director, there is a wonderful crew and this crew has helped me deliver a quality product.”

Harish mirrors the same, “Production values, good music, photography, excellent direction, good performances sum up M22P”.
