EXPECTATION METER

Veteran director Bharathiraja is back to doing what he does best - directing a village romance. This will be Bharathiraja's first film in 5 years after the gritty and complex mystery, Bommalattam. With Annakodi, that was renamed after its lengthy Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum, he is returning to his roots.

Annakodi has Lakshman Narayan in the lead with Karthika Nair cast opposite him. Manoj Bharathiraja has a prominent role with Renuka playing the role of a local moonshine seller. Other cast members include Meenal and Subiksha.

The movie underwent a series of casting changes before the final cast was locked. Annakodi is composed by GV Prakash and the audio was released in a grand event.

Annakodi's path to the silver screen was riddled with myriad troubles. Having gone on floors in 2011, the movie bore the brunt of Mullai Periyar issue and FEFSI issues before it got ready for release. Produced and distributed by Manoj Creations, Annakodi is releasing this weekend all over.
