Kochadaiyaan - 'Engae Pogudho Vaanam' single review

All the signs and sounds, of 'Engae Pogudho Vaanam' from Kochadaiyaan indicate that the track could well be the introduction song of Rajini - the sheer mood of optimism and emotional upliftment is reason enough to believe so !

A.R.Rahman begins with dramatic blaring horns and thundering percussions that charge along throughout the song with strong effect. The composer masterfully segues into various delicate instrumental segments giving the track a gentle soul amidst all the high energy as S.P.B earnestly breathes life into it with his towering vocals.

But the track’s real hero appears to be Vairamuthu’s lyrics which tread the fine line between playing to the Superstar’s image and making it poetically relevant to any real life situation. With SPB soaring through lines like “Aagayam thaduthaal, paayum paravai aavom…” and displaying tenderness during “Latchiyam enbadhallam vali kandu pirappadhadaa..” the song turns out be a glorious composition which leaves you fully inspired.
