Both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in October

Neither Kochadaiyaan nor Vishwaroopam 2 is releasing in October. But 16 Vayathinile is. Directed by Bharathiraja, the cult classic is being re-released and the trailer launch of the film is happening today. We have now come to the understanding that the film is being planned to be released in the end of October. Kalaipuli S Thanu has come forward to release the film in Tamil Nadu. 

The film stars Kamal Haasan and Sridevi in the lead roles and Rajinikanth as the antagonist. Kanthimathi, Goundamani and Bhagyaraj too feature in supporting characters. Ilayaraja’s music for the film is still considered one of his masterpieces. 

The trailer launch happened in grand style under the likes of stalwarts like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Bharathiraja. The other people who attended the function were Bhagyaraj, Parthipan, producer Rajkannan and the movie’s PRO Chithra Lakshmanan.
 

Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Bharathiraja and many others opened their hearts and shared some nostalgic memories and experiences.
 

Bharathiraja recalled moments when he approached Rajinikanth for acting in the movie.
 

“I told Rajinikanth that I was making an art film and asked how much salary he expected. He asked me for five thousand rupees. I finally fixed it for three thousand, but gave him only two thousand five hundred rupees.”
 

Director Bharathiraja was an emotional man when he spoke about the producer without whose tremendous support and good heart, he would not have been where he is today.
