Maestro Ilayaraja declines money from Mysskin

Music maestro Ilayaraja has an extraordinary place in the film industry and a product that he works on, acquires a special fillip with his brilliant musical strokes. Recently director Mysskin’s Onaayum Aattukuttiyum was much spoken about for Ilayaraja’s background score, which, in fact, the director had mentioned as foreground score in the opening credits of the film.

Although Onaayum Aattukuttiyum which was produced by Mysskin for his home banner Lone Wolf Productions, had garnered appreciation from audience, the film has not reached the desired level at the box-office, due to paucity of funds to promote. This has initiated Mysskin himself to plunge directly into marketing by sticking posters of the film in various southern cities of Tamil Nadu.

Having heard Mysskin’s plight and moved by the same, Ilayaraja took just the minimum remuneration for technicians who worked with him in the film. Behindwoods sources also aver that Raja did not take any remuneration for his work in the film. Surely, there could not have been a better way to help a creator in need! The magnanimity of Raja sir always shines and he reiterates that he remains the Raja forever!
