Thanga Meengal is out after just 38 days

Director Ram's Thanga Meengal which was released in theaters on August 30, earned glowing reviews from critics but wasn't very prolific at the box-office. It ran for a few weeks at the box-office before being phased out by the other new releases.

In a path-breaking move, the movie's official DVD has been made available across the state of Tamil Nadu from Oct 7th onwards. Coming after just 38 days of the theatrical release, Thanga Meengal's release in the home video segment ought to spark a trend for other new films to follow.

Modern Cinemas have released the movie's DVD across the state and the distribution of the DVDs is slowly pervading the state. The DVD has been priced at 75 Rupees.
