A few days back news reports were abuzz with a story that Shankar was denied permission to shoot in certain locations of China and that he had to shoot instead in Kodaikanal in appropriate sets.

But Shankar has shot back to such stories by saying that he had obtained the necessary permission for all the Chinese locations that he had planned and that he had also completed his shoots as per schedule.

In all, he wasn’t required to recreate China in Kodaikanal and the scenes shot in Kodai were something totally different from the China portions.
