Priyanka Chopra's dad, Lt. Col Dr. Ashok Chopra, passed away after losing his battle against cancer at around 12 30 pm today, the 10th of June. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai and was on respiratory support system over the past few days. His cancer recurred after being dormant for a few years. It was first diagnosed in 2005.

Priyanka had been giving her dad all the care and support and has been putting her shoots and rehearsals on hold to tend to her father. She was known to be very close to her dad and even had a tattoo that said "Daddy's Li'l Girl"

We pray for the departed soul to rest in peace and also for Priyanka and her family to be strong in this time of duress.
