Happy Birthday Mammootty!!!
Sep 07, 2013 The super star of the Malayalam Film Industry, Mammootty is celebrating his 62nd birthday today. The actor, whose real name is Mohammad Kutty, shortened his screen name to Mammootty. His fans and friends in the industry call him Mammukka (‘Ikka’, meaning brother).
The actor has acted in more than 360 films which include blockbusters such as Thaniyavarthanam, The King, Chronic Bachelor and Valtsalyam. Mammootty is the recipient of three national awards and five Kerala State Awards for the best actor.
The actor has also acted in a few Tamil movies such as Thalapathy, Kandukondain Kandukondain, and Aanandham and Azhagan which were directed by Mani Rathnam, Rajiv Menon, Linguswamy and K. Balachander respectively.
