We have had movies based on many sports themes, but very few of them have focussed on the small indoor games like carom. Here comes a movie, perhaps the first in South India which will have the carom game as one of its important aspect. Debutant director Kamalesh Vijay Anand, who has made 100 short films, forays into the feature film field with Vilayaada Vaa.
He says that a movie based on carom will definitely be a unique experience for the audience. The movie will not be a dull commentary on the game and its technicalities; it has an interesting story woven around it with all elements for a good entertainer like comedy and romance. The movie was initially started off as a low budget, low profile venture. But, as the movie was getting made, they realized that it was coming out well and decided to make it a bit bigger. As a result, the director says that, the movie has come out with a very good look and feel. Vilayaada Vaa will be ready for release iin February.
