A meeting was convened today by the FEFSI to condemn the Producers’ Council for their caustic remarks. Earlier, the Chairman of the Producers’ Council SA Chandrasekar and others made some caustic remarks about the FEFSI’s decision to revise the pay for the workers as it was done without consulting the Council.
Following this, the FEFSI, headed by Angamthu Shanmugam, G Siva, Rama Durai, director SP Jananathan and Ameer, issued a statement seeking an apology from the Producers’ Council for making such remarks. They also appealed to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to intervene in this issue. Further, there is a request to appoint an IAS officer to steer the film industry.
It was also said on behalf of the FEFSI that the workers will extend support to all the on-going projects but will not take up new films until the issue is resolved.
