Mani Ratnam’s next, nothing like Thalapathy!

There are reports and rumours about Mani Ratnam’s next movie being a film on the same lines of Thalapathy. But our sources assure that the upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual will be nothing like the 1991 Rajinikanth- Mammootty starrer. However, this new venture will be an action packed commercial movie, we hear.

Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu and Shruti Haasan have been confirmed and Mani Ratnam’s regular, AR Rahman will also be a part of the project. As far as, Aishwarya Rai is concerned, the team is apparently still in talks with the actress.

Cinematographer Ravi Verman, whose recent works include Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Barfi, might also hop on board. The other interesting detail we hear is that, Mani Ratnam might go with a different set of actors for the Tamil version of the movie.
 

However, we are informed that, it would be another month before an official announcement comes our way. So stay tuned!
