“This is a great honor” – AR Rahman

Behindwoods.com conducted its first annual Gold Summit on the 15^th of June, 2014 at ITC Grand Chola. The event was graced by a galaxy of stars, including AR Rahman, Dhanush, Bharathiraja, Siva Karthikeyan, Anirudh, Pooja Umashankar, MS Viswanathan and many others.

The 'Mozart of Madras' was presented the Behindwoods Gold Medal for Best Music Direction, for Kadal and Maryan. AR Rahman got his award from 'Mellisai Mannar' MS Viswanathan. Accepting the award, AR Rahman said, “This is a great honor. Ella Pughazhum Iraivanukke”
 

About the evergreen melody king, MSV, Rahman said, “Whenever I look at him, I see music. I see melody. His influence has definitely lasted as an extraordinary fragrance for four to five decades and will continue to be so.”
 

“I am your fan too Rahman, please add me too in your fans list,” said MSV after having honored ARR with the Behindwoods Gold Medal.
