Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi Stalin is ready with her first directorial debut Vanakkam Chennai with Mirchi Shiva and Priya Anand as leads. Music scored by Anirudh Ravichander is already a big hit with Osaka dominating the airwaves.  

The debutante director says that Vanakkam Chennai is a clean, romantic, musical comedy which would appeal to all sections of the audience. Kiruthiga also plans to plant 500 saplings to compensate for the carbon emitted during the shooting of the film. This would form part of the promotional activity of the film.

Now the question on everybody’s lips is whether she would direct her husband Udhayanidhi as he has already appeared as hero in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and is currently working in Idhu Kathirvelan Kaadhal. To this, the director says, “Perhaps from a director’s point of view I may direct Udhay but from a wife’s point of view, I may not”.
