The Thala of Tamil cinema is 21 years young today. Exactly 21 years ago, a young and charming Ajith Kumar stepped into the movie arena, with a sheer determination to make it big.
 

He ventured into the industry, as the lead actor in the movie Amaravathi, after which there was no looking back. The actor has been enthralling the audience ever since, with his charisma and sharp acting skills, piercing his way deeper and deeper into the hearts of his fans.
 

Thala has given us some smashing hits like Aasai, Kadhal Kottai, Kadhal Mannan, Vaali, Mugavaree, Citizen, Amarkalam, Billa and Mankatha. In the early days of his career, he was considered the heart-throb among the youngsters because of his exceptional performance as a romance hero in movies like Kadhal Mannan, Aval Varuvaala and Ullasam.
 

He later registered himself as an action hero of mass and class in movies like Citizen, Amarkalam, Varalaaru and Billa. He has treated his fans with his proficient acting skills in all the movies that came his way.
 

Who would forget his performance in Vaali? The impeccable performance of the actor in a double role, double-floored us. The movie even won him the Filmfare Award for the best actor.
 

His 21 year march in the industry, with his head raised high has gained him the much deserved moniker, ‘THALA’. His fans are now brimming with enthusiasm, eagerly awaiting his latest Arrambam, which is directed by Vishnu Vardhan.
