With Singam 2 fast becoming a huge hit, Actor Suriya and Director Hari interacted with fans across the state during a live telecast in a leading television channel on Sunday, the 7th of July. 

 

The excitement among the fans was infectious. With lots of different questions being thrown at them, Suriya and Hari answered each of the questions with patience and panache. 

 

On the biggest question among the fans whether Singam 3 would happen, Hari and Suriya said that it will all depend on whether an unique plot will evolve for Singam 3. If a new story knot for Singam 3 would excite them, they would definitely do it, since people across Tamil Nadu have given great response to the Singam franchisee. The director-actor duo thanked the entire Singam team for the tremendous hard work in making this movie a success. 

 

There were also lot of suggestions from the fans to Suriya to come up with sequels for Sillunu Oru Kadhal and Kaakha Kaakha. 

 

Suriya said that it was Jyothika (Jo) who gave him the first positive response about the movie. Jo seems to have thoroughly enjoyed the movie. She clapped and congratulated her husband as soon as the first preview show was over. "This was the first time Jo clapped enthusiastically after a movie completed, in the last twelve years", said the versatile artist. His brother Karthi texted to him that the pace of the movie was unmatched. "What a movie. Pace unmatched" - Karthi had texted Suriya. His sister was very happy about the movie and personally thanked director Hari for the wonderful final product. Suriya also added that it was one of the very few movies his mother came out of the theater in a very happy mood. 

 

Among the celebrities, directors of Suriya's next movies - Gautham Menon and Lingusamy had also called up the actor and conveyed their wishes. Gautham was very impressed with the screenplay and Lingusamy was personally thrilled about the overwhelming success of the movie. Veteran Radha Ravi also conveyed to Suriya that his entire family enjoyed the movie and he was happy for Suriya's professional growth. UTV South head, Dhananjayan compared Suriya's screen presence to that of Sivaji Ganesan's in Veerapandiya Kattabomman, and said that he loved Singam so much that he watched it back to back. "The majesty that Sivaji sir had shown in Veerapandiya Kattabomman, I could see in Suriya's Singam 2", signed off, one of the leading producers in South India. 

 

On the question of inspiration, Suriya had earlier said that though he had lot of friends in the police force, he had modeled Duraisingam on Rajinijkanth's Alex Pandian. Superstar Rajinikanth himself had said that Sivaji Ganesan's Veerapandiya Kattabomman was a big inspiration for many of his roles.  

 

We guess the legacy of majestic screen presence is being passed over.
