What does Thalaivaa have to do with Nayagan and Baasha?
Jul 07, 2013With the release of Thalaivaa, just about a month away, the expectation and hype among Vijay's fans is mounting to stratospheric levels. The director of the movie, A.L.Vijay, said recently that he didn't write Thalaivaa specifically for Vijay but was sure that the script needed a big star. Ilayathalapathy happened to like the director's pitch about the script and the project immediately kick-started.
The director is aware of all the comparisons to Baasha and Nayagan, but he assures that the movie would be different in its content though the milieu and basic theme are similar. He is happy with Ilayathalapathy's work on his voice and body language as his character goes through a marked transition.
Director Vijay sums up Thalaivaa as a movie with a good story and a great star, and also one which would have both the Vijays' sensibilities in equal measure.
