Singam 2 - still the undisputed best show in town
Jul 14, 2013Even as Singam 2 enters its second week, the film shows no signs of slowing down as far as Chennai city is concerned. It retains a firm stronghold on the prime screens in the city and collections are expected to remain rock steady. The lack of a strong competitor from Tamil has helped the film's cause even more, despite the release of a great Hindi film in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
The 2 big Sathyam screens - Sathyam and Santham, the 2 big Devi screens - Devi and Devi Paradise, 3 big screens in Abirami Mega Mall and similarly huge number of shows in the other multiplexes in the city such as Escape, Inox, PVR, Fame, AGS and of course Mayajaal has ensured that Singam 2 would continue to keep the cash registers ringing merrily.
Singam 2 is a rare case of a sequel in Tamil cinema managing to live up to, and even outpace the first part, in terms of box-office success.
