35 years of an 'Acting Encyclopedia'
Sep 04, 2013 Mohanlal the versatile Malayalam actor completes 35 years in the film industry today (4th September 2013). The actor, referred to as Lalettan by his fans and friends in the industry, stepped into cinema through Manjil Virinja Pookkal, in which he played a negative role.
The actor’s scale has never gone down ever since. Lalettan, who is known for his versatility and impeccable skill, has acted in over 300 Malayalam films. He has won four national awards and nine Kerala state awards. The actor was also bestowed the title of Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Army in 2009. Mohanlal is a very jovial and down to earth person and is known for dedication towards his profession.
The actor has acted in a few Tamil films as well, which includes Iruvar directed by Mani Rathnam and Unnai Pol Oruvan. Mohanlal is now acting in Jilla that has Vijay in the lead.
The actor has a dedicated Facebook page, which has over 1 million likes, that keeps his fans updated about his latest projects. It should be noted that Mohanlal is the first South Indian actor to have a verified Facebook account.
