In Unnaipol Oruvan, the power-struggle between the TN Chief Secretary played by Lakshmi and Police Commissioner played by Mohanlal is evident from the get-go. When the situation gets out of control Lakshmi suggests an intervention from the higher authority which Mohan Lal declines. The is followed by some heated exchanges where both admit to not liking each other but quickly a witty comment made by Mohanlal puts out the fire and both exchange their respect for each other.
