Exactly 85 years ago, a legend was born

Today is the birthday anniversary of late Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan. The actor who was born on the 1^st of October, 1928, walked into Tamil Cinema through Parasakthi in the year 1952 after which there was no looking back.
 

Sivaji Ganesan featured himself in a long list of movies such as Veerapandiya Kattabomman, Thiruvilayadal, Navarathiri, Harichandran and Thillana Mohanambal to name a few. The versatile actor was bestowed with civilian honours like the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Chevalier.
 

Towards the later part of his career, Sivaji Ganesan made character role appearances in movies like Once More, Thevar Magan and Padayappa.
 

The actor lost his life in the year 2001, following serious health issues. Sivaji Ganesan's versatility and his contribution to Tamil Cinema will always be engraved in the annals of history.
