Ace director and actor, Cheran was under the scanner after his own daughter filed a complaint against him with the Commissioner of Police. Dhamini, an under-grad student complained that she was kept on house arrest by her father, Cheran after he came to know about her love affair.


In a statement, Dhamini had reportedly pointed out that she is a major and that she wishes to get married to the boy she is in love with. Chandru, one of Cheran’s own associates and Dhamini had been in a relationship for some time now and Cheran, according to his daughter, along with a bunch of goons had threatened Chandru to leave her alone.


Dhamini along with the elder sister of Chandru met the Commissioner of Police recently and filed a formal complaint against her father, director/actor Cheran.


In response to the happening, an emotional Cheran met the press and tried to justify his actions. The actor/director assures that he is not against her daughter falling in love. But, from the background check Cheran made on Chandru, the actor / director maintained that the guy Dhamini is in love with, isn't someone who is a right match for her.
