The Chennai branch of a private bank has issued a print ad highlighting the bank’s defaulters. The ad in the Tamil daily features popular actor Karan as one of the offenders. The ad mentions that Karan had borrowed a loan amount from the bank but had failed to repay them as per the agreed terms.

The individuals who had served as guarantors of Karan too have been mentioned in the ad along with a photo of each of them. The ad contains a copy which reads that the bank is involved in taking legal action against the defaulters and has asked the general public to be wary of involving in any transactions with the mentioned individuals.

Karan was last seen in the film Thambi Vettothi Sundaram where he played the hero with Anjali playing his pair. The film was released in 2011.
