Arya - Anjali lip-lock is real
Mar 29, 2013The core team of the upcoming comedy caper Settai was gathered under one roof to meet the press and give out interesting bits of info about the film. The only notable absentee was Santhanam, who couldn’t make it because of his hectic schedule.
One of the talking points was the infamous kissing scene from the original 'Delhi Belly'. The team responded by saying that Settai too will feature two smooches. The one between Arya and Hansika is a trick shot while the lip-lock between Arya and Anjali is real.
On the same subject Anjali said she would be ok with kissing scenes as long as the script demanded it. She also said that the audience was used to seeing her in talkative roles but this film would be different. Hansika was typically poised and gracious as she thanked the team for the opportunity.
UTV Films Dhananjayan said that the censor board was particularly appreciative of their treatment of the cult film. He vouched that there will be no vulgarity and was confident that the Tamil audience would enjoy it.
Director Kannan believed that only 10% of the Tamil audience would have watched the original and Settai was for the majority 90%. He has altered the script to suit the local sensibilities.
Actor Nasser said his son was skeptical of whether he could pull off the role as it was physically demanding and thus took it up as a challenge. Meanwhile Premgi informed that the film will not have any of his usual mannerisms.
The unit also threw some light on the characterizations and some of the comedy sequences in the film.
