The controversy surrounding actress Anjali alleging director Kalanjiyam and her step mom Bharathi Devi of torture and ill-treatment, has been creating a big buzz in the online space since yesterday.

Behindwoods managed to get in touch with the three concerned parties in this issue. Actress Anjali struggled hard to control her tears as she opened up on this

“Director Kalanjiyam and Bharathi Devi pose a danger to my life and they have subjected me to a lot of torture. I am currently in Hyderabad and do not wish to reveal my whereabouts as I fear that these two will find me again and trouble me further.  

Bharathi Devi used to accompany me on my shoots and she and her husband controlled me totally and didn’t even allow me to meet my family on a regular basis. All my property and earnings are in her name and I just have the Valasaravakkam house in my name.

I was controlling my angst and frustrations for so long and now I couldn’t tolerate this any further and decided to open out to the media about this. I was treated like a slave and they even managed my media interactions and didn’t allow me to be friendly to the outside world thereby creating a needless bad impression on me.
 

I am planning to take legal action on them as soon as possible.”

Bharathi Devi was in a state of disbelief and shock when she was approached for her comments.

Director Kalanjiyam said that as the director who introduced Anjali, he never used to force her and was a good family friend all along. It seems Anjali had shot for his next movie Oorsuthi Puranam for 15 days and before her next schedule in the coming months, she has suddenly given out this outburst thereby throwing the director into a state of shock.
