EXPECTATION METER
In the day of rehashing old film titles, it's no surprise that the title of the legendary courtroom drama of 1970s, Gouravam with Sivaji Ganeshan in double roles is taken only now. The new Gouravam reportedly deals with honor killings and is directed by Radha Mohan for Prakash Raj's Duet Movies.
Gouravam is a bilingual and also serves as the launch pad of Allu Sirish, who debuts in the movie in Tamil. Sirish is the brother of Tollywood star Allu Arjun. Although reports of Sirish's debut surfaced back in 2011, Gouravam went into production only in mid-2012.
Sirish is joined by Yami Gautam, the pretty woman in the last year's surprise success Vicky Donor, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Sricharan and Anupama Kumar. Gauravam's music is scored by Thaman who is slowly becoming the rage among Gen-Y musicians of today in Tamil and Telugu. The movie's audio was released recently at an IPL match in Hyderabad.
Gouravam is releasing in Tamil and Telugu this weekend, distributed by Vendhar Movies. Radha Mohan has an indelible mark of quality movies in his resume and it will be interesting to see how this new venture pans out for him.
