TAMIL MOVIE RELEASE EXPECTATION

In 2011, Abhinay Deo released his stoner-comedy in Hindi titled Delhi Belly with up and coming actors and set the cash registers ringing all over India. The film about three friends and their skulduggery was expletive-laden and proudly wore it’s A certificate on its sleeves. When it is made in Tamil though, the movie is said to be stripped of its rustic coarseness and is being promoted as a family entertainer.

R. Kannan directs the remake with Arya, Santhanam and Premji playing the trio of friends whose carefree lives get enmeshed in a mafia's operation when one of their girlfriends get accidentally involved in a smuggling operation. Hansika Motwani and Anjali play the film's female leads. 

UTV produces Settai and the movie is largely shot in India but for a few song sequences for which the crew traveled to Switzerland. Thaman scores for the movie that has five songs that are fairly popular already on the charts. A Telugu dubbed version of the movie, titled Naughty Boys, is also being planned. 

Reiterating its positioning, Settai is certified U by the censors propagating its fitness for family audience. Looks like the Tamil version of Delhi Belly will be an adult comedy without the adult nature of its jokes. What with the summer vacation and holidays, Settai has a good chance if it proves to be a comic caper it is promising to be.
