‘Happy to be associated’ – Seenu Ramasamy - Event Story

An official press meet was held ahead of the Norway Tamil Film Festival which was initiated in the year 2010. The purpose of the festival, according to its organizers, is to promote Tamil films and bring interesting Indian films to the attention of the Tamil audience residing all over the world.

The Four Frames screening complex hosted the directors of the films that have been selected for this year’s line-up at the festival. The guest list included Ranjith, director of Attakathi, K.S. Thangasamy, director of Raattinam, Balaji Tharaneetharan, director of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, Prabhu Solomon, director of Kumki and Seenu Ramasamy, director of Neerparavai, among others.

Seenu Ramasamy during his speech spoke of his happiness being continuously associated with the venture, calling it a novel initiation. He reminisced about his first film ‘Thenmerkku Paruvakaattru’ being selected for the festival the previous year and he too had the opportunity to be a part of the festival in person.

The organizers presented the entire list of films that were selected to be screened at the event. Apart from the aforementioned list of films, there are other films that have been picked. They are Sundarapandian, Pizza, Vazhakku En 18/9, Saattai, Dhoni, and Pudhumugangal Thevai. There are also a list of independent Tamil films from across the globe that have found its way into the festival like Iniyavale Kaathiruppen (Australia), Ini Avan (Sri Lanka) and Sagodhara Pookal (Canada).

The festival will span over five days between April 24-28 across three European cities namely London, Berlin and Oslo, the capital city of Norway.
