When the press pointed that he doesn’t give much importance to ‘kuthu’ songs, Imman said that he is happy that such numbers aren’t being demanded from him. He further added that even his racy numbers in movies like Mynaa and Kumki had a melodic undercurrent.

On the trend of composers going to foreign lands for the purpose of composing and music discussion, Imman said that he doesn’t believe in such fads and trends. His entire setup is within the confines of his studio and he feels at home here. On a lighter note, he said that he has never crossed even the ECR in Chennai for his song compositions, recording or mixing.
