'Don't call me Uncle' - Jiiva - Event Story

The team of Yaan assembled at the popular Residency Towers hotel in the city of Chennai to introduce members of the cast and crew to the press and also brief them about the movie and its making. Some of the key faces in the event were Jiiva, Thulasi Nair, Ravi K. Chandran, Elred Kumar, Jayaraman, Nasser, Jayaprakash and Thambi Ramaiah among other guests.

It was Jiiva who took to the mic with purpose to given an in-depth account of his experience working with Ravi K Chandran. He admitted that literally every film would advertise itself as something new to the audience but was firm in his belief that Yaan will walk the talk when it came to delivering something new. He also spoke of how the director Ravi K Chandran would summon him at the sets very early in the day and the crew would have already been prepared to shoot the scene.

Jiiva also spoke specifically about the climax and was confident that the audience will love it. He revealed that the film is nearly complete and that they have one last schedule in Morocco left. He turned on his quick-wittedness when he spoke about his co-star Thulasi Nair. It seems he realized his ‘seniority’ to the young girl and instructed her not to call him ‘uncle’. But he did have a word of praise for Thulasi Nair and said that she has learnt well from the experience of working with Mani Ratnam.

The other speakers expressed their confidence in the finished project and hoped that the audience enjoys the film as much as they did making it.
