Every time Kamal comes up with a film, he puts in a lot of research into it. Vishwaroopam is no different.

About how he came up with the film, he revealed that the seed was the Virata Parvam of the great Indian epic, Mahabharath. Virata Parvam talks about the 13^th year of the Pancha Pandava’s exile, where the five go into hiding in King Virata’s empire, disguised as simple people.
 

This chapter talks about hidden talents and unknown truths, kept under the shadows by the Pandavas. The Vishwaroopam trailer too shows Kamal in a couple of contrasting attires. Particularly, Andrea’s dialogue, “Indha kadhaila ellarukkume double role”, suggests that this film could be a contemporary adaptation of Virata Parvam.    
 

The film could be considered international and should be watched by everyone around the world, said Kamal Haasan in a recent statement. Vishwaroopam is international also because of its technical team consisting of experts from America, Korea, Thailand, New Zealand and many other countries.
