Action King Arjun who has always worn his patriotism on his sleeve celebrates his 49th birthday today. It seems almost fitting that Arjun was born on our national independence day and the actor has made the most of his on screen time to drive home nationalistic messages and Indian pride. The actor is currently shooting for Jai Hind-2 which is being made under his supervision.

Today also marks the birthday of another one of the industry’s favourite and well respected artists, Suhasini Mani Ratnam who turns 48 on this day. Known for her versatile acting skills, Suhasini has also gone on to display her talent in other aspects of filmmaking, often assisting her husband and ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam in his projects.
